At a young age in Memphis, with nothing more than a pocket knife, Larry began carving small figures from bars of Ivory soap. As he grew older, he and his grandfather spent many afternoons on the back porch whittling.

After serving in the military, Larry returned to his formal education of Architecture. Practicing Architecture for many  years, he returned to sculpture full time.

As an avid scuba diver, a primary focus has been aquatic scenes. Successfully he weaves his diving and wood sculpture into an intricate piece of art. He has been recognized nationwide for his unique style in presenting sculptures of life in the sea.

He enjoys working in wood, stone and bronze. Notably his work has grown from the aquatic to many different subjects. Human figures, animals, etc.

Larry was awarded 1st place with Rose in the 2007 International Woodcarvers Congress Competition. Larry now resides in Broken Arrow, OK where he maintains an in-home studio. He is Vice President of the Oklahoma Sculpture Society and a member of many professional organizations.  To name a few - Oklahoma Sculptor Society (different media), East Oklahoma Woodcarvers Association and a charter member of Liepers Fork Carving Club (TN).
